Robotic Cholecystectomy
Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal
of the gallbladder. The most common
reason for a cholecystectomy is to remove
gallstones that cause biliary colic (acute
pain in the abdomen caused by spasm or
blockage of the cystic or bile duct).
Robotic Cholecystectomy can now be done with a single incision in the umbilical (belly button) area. This procedure is popularly known as Single Site Robotic Cholecystectomy.
Robotic Intestinal Procedures
A variety of small and large intestinal procedures are now being performed using the robot. These include small bowel and colon surgeries including surgery for colon cancer.
Robotic Hernia Repair
Hernia repair refers to a surgical operation for the correction of a hernia(a bulging of internal organs or tissues through a defect in the wall of a body cavity). Hernias can occur in many places, including the abdomen, groin, diaphragm, brain, and at the site of a previous operation.
